Voice of Children (VOC) celebrated the National Children Day on 13th of September, 2014 by organizing ‘Children Talent Show’ program at Lalitpur Party Palace, Satdobato, Lalitpur. The program is organized every year to mark the National Children Day with the performance of children from VOC. The children from Welcome Center, Preparation Center, Family Development Program and Reintegration program along with other children from streets participated in the event. Children performed dances, songs and dramas to make the program more entertaining. Mr. Ashok Shrestha, Senior Officer from Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City, Social Welfare Department felicitated SLC passed children of VOC by distributing certificates of appreciation. Also, Mr. Megh Nath Sapkota from Mahalaxmi Higher Secondary School distributed token of love and gifts to the children who secured notable positions in different extra-curricular activities organized by VOC. The three hours long program started at 8 in the morning and ended at 11 with foods and lot of fun among the children and the staffs.

Similarly, children from Preparation Center participated in the next day program at Social Welfare Council to mark the National Children Day-2071. In the same morning, staffs of VOC participated in a rally program organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City where it announced Ward No. 14 as one of the first child friendly area of Kathmandu district. Earlier in August, Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City has already declared Ward no. 14 and 21 of Lalitpur district as a child labor free area.
